Indian Visa Photo Requirements

Your photo for the Indian Visa application will have specific requirements regarding size, position, format, lighting, and duration from the date the photograph was taken. The Indian visa also requires a recent photo, and one taken no more than six months prior to application. Photos from high school will be rejected. If you do not have a recent photograph, you should ask a friend or family member to take one for you. In addition, high school passport photos will not be accepted.

Your Indian visa application will be rejected if your photo is not clear and recognizable. To avoid this, you should make sure your photo is clear, in color, and without distracting features. It should also be in high-resolution. Remember that an underexposed or overexposed photo will be rejected, as will one with blurry background. Below are a few tips to make your photo look good for the visa application.

No shadows

Applicants applying for a visa to India should make sure that their photograph is clear, with no shadows. This is because the government has recently updated the visa photo requirements. A photo that doesn’t meet these guidelines may result in a rejected application. In addition, applicants must take two copies of the photo before they submit it. The photo should be in colour, at least 2 inches by 2 inches, and in continuous tone quality. The photo should be of the applicant’s face in full, with his or her eyes open. The background should be white or off-white, and without any shadows or reflections.
